The following is a brief outline of the key responsibilities of each committee role. Any member who has an interest or willingness to support the Group via a Committee role should speak to any member of Committee.

Chair

  • Co-ordinate Group activities
  • Ensure the aims of the group in terms of providing training towards the advanced driving and riding tests are met in consultation with the training co-ordinators
  • Organise the holding of at least two committee meetings per year to comply with RoSPA rules
  • Focal point for any contact with RoSPA HQ and or RoSPA Regional Co-ordinator
  • Chairperson must be a currently tested  full member of RoSPA
  • Endeavour to attend all Committee meetings

Secretary

  • Maintain membership database and master email distribution lists
  • Co-ordinate with Car and Motorcycle Training Officers to maintain database accuracy
  • Ensure that minutes are taken of all official meetings and distribute them to committee members
  • Deal with correspondence relevant to the Group
  • Call the AGM in accordance with the constitution
  • Endeavour to attend all Committee meetings

Training Officer ( Car and Motorcycle )

  • The co-ordination of training activity
  • Working with the Advanced Tutors or Diploma holders ensure, when required, Approved Tutor Training is delivered and that tutors are regularly assessed to meet quality assurance requirements of our RoSPA accreditation
  • Maintain a list of tutors and ensure that HQ has a current list
  • Deal with requests for assistance from full and associate members wishing to improve their driving/riding ability
  • Whenever possible allocate such members to suitable tutors
  • Report at regular intervals to the committee
  • Endeavour to attend all Committee meetings

Treasurer

  • Monitor the finances of the Group
  • Maintain the Group’s accounts in line with the constitution
  • Present a verified statement of accounts at the AGM
  • Handle Group membership payments and income payments
  • Pay invoices  as required
  • Handle HMRC and OSCR requirements
  • Endeavour to attend all Committee meetings

Media

  • Monitor the group’s Facebook page
  • Maintain the content of the page aimed at keeping it active and relevant
  • Advise the Committee on ways to improve the group’s media profile
  • Endeavour to attend all Committee meetings

Social

  • Act as focal point and co-ordinate the social activities of the group such as group organised runs or weekend trips
  • Endeavour to attend all Committee meetings

Additional Trustees

  • Give general support to the Committee and Group activities
  • Endeavour to attend all Committee meetings
